Conclusion
The REEEA-Alliance Strategic Plan aims to Strengthening Renewable Energy and Energy Efficient Technologies and Innovation for Sustainable Development of Nigeria and beyond. The Strategic document seek to focus and align the REEEA-Alliance priorities goals alongside key developmental goals (Nigeria’s REEEP policies and programs, SDGs, NDCs, Agenda 2063, and so on) in order to meet the growing needs and aspirations of Nigerians at individual, institutional, local and national needs. The plan has three (3) key sectors that will be of strategic priority in the next three (3) years: Energy; Climate Action; Research Support Services. The plan also identify six (6) key programmatic areas that will be of strategic priority in the next three (3) years; Training, Sensitization and Capacity Building; Consultancy Services; Trade and Market Development; Network and Information Exchange; Infrastructure, Welfare and Corporate Sustainability Responsibilities (CSRs); Youth and Gender.
The plan also identifies specific objectives, strategies for accomplishing it and expected outcomes under each of the thematic/programmatic priority areas. Through this plan, the Alliance has sought to articulate its vision for Nigeria and beyond and its mission to contribute to clean energy access and poverty alleviation through the deployment of RE & EE technologies and practices. The centre piece of the mission is the strong belief that Nigeria’s current energy poverty and access is yawning, therefore bridging the knowledge, technological and innovation capacity gap in Nigeria and beyond is the foundation for inclusive growth and prosperity.
We therefore recognize that achieving the desired outcomes of this strategy will require significant investments in terms of Overseas Development Assistance (ODA), government supports and private sector investments. We invite partners to support REEEA-Alliance Phase I Strategic Plan 2021-2023 through core grants, thematic/programmatic grants, and consultancies to enable us achieve our stated objectives.
